Hyundai i40 Wins EuroCarBody 2011

Hyundai i40- has received the prestigious Golden Award at this year’s EuroCarBody Conference, held near Frankfurt, Germany, beating nine of Europe’s & Japan’s largest automakers to the prize. Hosted by Automotive Circle International, an organization consisting of top automotive suppliers and manufacturers, the EuroCarBody awards were judged by over 500 attending delegates, including industry experts from across the world. The judges praised the comprehensive engineering and effective development of materials, as well as the production efficiency of the i40 which scored 37.98 out of a maximum 50 points. The closest competitor and second-placed car, the Audi A6, scored 35.86, with the Mercedes B-Class in third place achieving 34.66, giving Hyundai a clear victory.

Hyundai is able to set aside nine other established manufacturers from Europe and Japan. Hyundai also became the first South Korean manufacturer that is able to achieve awards and captured the attention of the 500 automotive observer. Within the contest originated from Audi, BMW, Ford, Mazda, MercedesBenz, Nissan, Opel, LandRover and VW. The all new i40 was created and designed in Europe, particularly for that European market. Hyundai i40 has three optional engines with 1.6 liter gasoline engine and two 1.7-liter diesel engine. With a choice of three trim levels namely Active, Style and Premium. An automatic transmission gearbox available as an option on high-powered diesel engine.

Standard features include a prepared 16-inch alloy wheels, electric mirrors, Bluetooth and an electronic parking brake. Satellite navigation, rear parking camera, leather upholstery and keyless entry are available on most models high. While warning systems, as well as ventilated front seats available as an optional choice.

All i40 sedan saloon will have seven airbags as standard safety, along with stability control and hill-start assist. Version with Blue Drive technology will get the engine stop-start system as standard car, which helped set CO2 emissions below 120g/km.
