Scion FR-S Sport Coupe Special Presentation
While the unfolded Auto Show in Los Angeles, the North American division of Toyota had organized a special presentation and rather intimate sports coupe, Scion FR-S.
Scion FR-S
This presentation seems to confirm that the Scion FR-S coupe is reserved for the North American market while its little brother, the Toyota GT 86 is available on all other global markets.
This also means that the cut BRZ Subaru is assigned a diffusion across the planet.
With this disclosure on the net of the first official pictures of the 2 +2 coupe, we see that it complies with an almost religious style and design data of the same name.
The side of the Scion brand, the letters “FR-S” means Front-engine, Rear wheel-drive and Sport.
A compact sport coupe, the silhouette is similar to that of Toyota and Subaru GT 86 BRZ, notwithstanding their nose and rear section of their own.
Subaru Boxer Engine
Scion FR-S is compacted with a flat four-cylinder engine type 2.0-liter turbo Boxer, whose power is 200 horses for a couple of 151 lb-ft. This powertrain was developed by engineers at Subaru. The dual injection system component “D-4S” was designed by engineers from Toyota.
Boxes and manual six-speed automatic complete the picture.
Production of Scion FR-S sports coupe is expected to begin in spring 2012 for a theatrical release planned for next summer. Managed speed on Scion FR-S
